Write why the giant wishes he were small.
Now, Gorlad knew he was a different size than the others in town. He was always stretching down to greet people and often squeezing and squishing himself through doorways. Sometimes, he would sit on the park bench (actually it was the wooden stage in the park, but a perfect bench size for Gorlad and so he didn't notice and no one told him otherwise) and watch the smaller folk just move through the air, the buildings, their lives with little to no thought on adjusting their bodies to just fit.
"What would it be like," Gorlad mused, "to just walk around with no concern of running into things, accidentally stepping on small dogs (RIP Angus - it did bite his toes, so it was self-defense, really), or contorting oneself to just interact with others. Such freedom these people have to move with ease, so comfortable in their bodies. What I wouldn't give to be small."
"If I were small, I would do cartwheels through the main street with no worries of crushing buildings. I would finally be able to see inside of a restaurant and know what fresh, hot food served to me and shared with friends is like. I would finally be able to talk with people for more than a short exchange and maybe make those friends. If I were small, life would just be easier and better," Gorlad thought glumly.
Across the park, taking up only a quarter of a small park bench, sat Cerulen, a small man, observing the giant who appeared to be enjoying a short rest on the park stage (hard to see his expression being his face was as high up as the town's 300 year old tree). Cerulen thought to himself, "Look at the freedom of the giant - able to see so far and move so quickly through the world. I bet he is so well-traveled and knowledgeable with all he can experience as a giant. Oh how I wish I were big..."
